The Allahabad High Court, which functions from Prayagraj and has a bench in Lucknow, has long faced severe judge shortages. With these fresh appointments, the bench strength will improve, though it still remains below the sanctioned capacity.
The notification has been communicated to the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister's office, the Registrar General of the High Court, and the Supreme Court registry.
The new judges are expected to take oath in the coming days, after which they will formally assume office.
