The Supreme Court Collegium has put forth its recommendation for the appointment of eight judicial officers as judges of the Gujarat High Court. This move is aimed at strengthening the judiciary by filling vacant positions and ensuring smooth judicial functioning in the state.

The judicial officers recommended for appointment are:

  • Liyakathussain Shamsuddin Pirzada
  • Ramchandra Thakurdas Vachhani
  • Jayesh Lakhanshibhai Odedra
  • Pranav Maheshbhai Raval
  • Mool Chand Tyagi
  • Dipak Mansukhlal Vyas
  • Utkarsh Thakorbhai Desai
  • Rohenkumar Kundanlal Chudawala

The Gujarat High Court currently has 32 judges, significantly below its sanctioned strength of 52. The appointment of these eight judges will help bridge this gap and improve judicial efficiency in the state.
