Applies to: Court Book Mobile Application and the official website courtbook.in (collectively referred to as the "Platform").
Welcome to Court Book. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "You" or "Your") and Court Book ("Court Book", "Company", "We", "Us" or "Our") governing your access to and use of the Platform and all related services.
By downloading, installing, accessing, browsing, registering for an account or otherwise using any part of the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be legally bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Disclaimer.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform.

Court Book is an independent legal information and legal research platform designed to simplify access to publicly available legal resources.
The Platform may provide access to:

Court Book organises and presents legal information for educational, informational and research purposes.
Court Book is not a law firm, legal practitioner, advocate, solicitor, attorney, legal consultant, government department, statutory authority or court.
2. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms apply to every visitor, registered user, subscriber, customer and any other person accessing or using the Platform.
By using Court Book, you confirm that:
- You are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the applicable laws of your jurisdiction.
- You will use the Platform only for lawful purposes.
- You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
- Any information provided by you is accurate and complete.
If you access the Platform on behalf of an organisation, company, educational institution or government body, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age or the minimum legal age required under the laws applicable to you to enter into legally binding agreements.
If you are below the applicable legal age, you may use the Platform only under the supervision and consent of a parent, guardian or authorised educational institution where permitted by law.
Court Book reserves the right to refuse access where we reasonably believe a user does not satisfy the eligibility requirements.
4. Account Registration
Certain features may require registration or authentication using supported login methods such as Google, Apple or other authorised identity providers.
You agree that:
- you will maintain accurate account information;
- you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials;
- you are responsible for all activities occurring through your account;
- you will immediately notify Court Book of any suspected unauthorised access.
Court Book is not responsible for losses arising from failure to safeguard your account credentials.
5. Nature of Services
The Platform provides access to legal information, educational materials, public legal documents, legal news, legal research tools and AI-assisted search technologies.
Although Court Book makes reasonable efforts to organise and update information, laws, judgments and government publications may change without notice due to amendments, judicial decisions, repeals, corrigenda or official updates.
Accordingly:
- content may occasionally contain typographical, editorial or technical errors;
- certain information may become outdated after publication;
- some legal drafts may require modification before use;
- court judgments may subsequently be modified, reviewed, distinguished or overruled;
- government notifications may be superseded or withdrawn.
Users remain solely responsible for verifying all legal information from official sources before relying upon it for any legal, financial, commercial or personal purpose.
6. Informational Purpose Only
All information available through Court Book is provided solely for general informational, educational and legal research purposes.
Nothing available on the Platform shall be interpreted as:
- legal advice;
- professional legal opinion;
- legal representation;
- advocacy services;
- litigation strategy;
- tax advice;
- financial advice;
- government advice;
- professional certification.
You should always seek advice from a qualified advocate or other appropriately qualified professional before making legal decisions or initiating legal proceedings.
7. No Advocate–Client Relationship
Use of the Platform does not create any advocate-client, attorney-client, solicitor-client, fiduciary, agency, partnership, employment or professional relationship between you and Court Book.
Communications with Court Book, including support requests, AI interactions, emails or feedback, do not establish any professional legal relationship.
Court Book does not undertake to represent users before any court, tribunal, governmental authority or other forum.
8. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features
Court Book may provide Artificial Intelligence ("AI") powered search, semantic search, legal document discovery, legal draft assistance, content summarisation, translation, recommendations and similar automated technologies to improve the accessibility of legal information.
AI features are intended solely as research assistance tools and should not be relied upon as a substitute for independent legal research or professional legal advice.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated responses are created automatically using machine learning technologies.
- AI responses may contain inaccuracies, omissions, outdated information or incomplete analysis.
- AI-generated summaries are not official versions of laws or judgments.
- Court Book does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability or suitability of AI-generated results.
- You remain solely responsible for independently verifying every legal reference through official sources before relying upon it.
- AI-generated responses do not constitute legal advice, legal opinion or professional consultation.
Court Book reserves the right to modify, suspend, improve or discontinue any AI feature at any time without prior notice.
9. Government Information and Public Legal Content
Court Book collects, organises, indexes and presents publicly available legal information from official and lawful sources for educational, informational and research purposes.
Such information may include:
- Central Acts
- State Acts
- Constitution of India
- Parliament Bills
- State Bills
- Ordinances
- Rules
- Regulations
- Government Notifications
- Court Judgments
- Tribunal Decisions
- Legal News
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Court Book is not the author, publisher, issuing authority or official custodian of such documents.
Court Book is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorised by or representing the Government of India, any State Government, any Ministry, Department, Court, Tribunal or statutory authority.
Official government publications shall always prevail in the event of any discrepancy.
10. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the Platform responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws.
You are solely responsible for:
- all activities conducted through your account;
- maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- verifying legal information before relying upon it;
- ensuring your use complies with applicable laws and regulations;
- maintaining appropriate security of your own devices and internet connection.
You acknowledge that Court Book cannot monitor every use of the Platform and cannot guarantee that every piece of information will remain current at all times.
11. Prohibited Uses
You agree that you will not:
- use the Platform for any unlawful purpose;
- violate any applicable law or regulation;
- upload malware, viruses or malicious software;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or account;
- interfere with servers, databases or network infrastructure;
- circumvent security features;
- impersonate another individual or organisation;
- submit false or misleading information;
- attempt to reverse engineer any software forming part of the Platform except where expressly permitted by applicable law;
- copy, reproduce or redistribute substantial portions of the Platform without written permission;
- use the Platform to infringe intellectual property rights;
- engage in fraudulent, abusive or deceptive conduct;
- use the Platform in a manner likely to damage the reputation of Court Book.
Violation of this section may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of access without prior notice.
12. Automated Access and Data Scraping
Except where expressly authorised in writing by Court Book, you shall not:
- use bots, crawlers, spiders or automated scripts;
- perform large-scale scraping or harvesting of Platform content;
- systematically download legal databases from the Platform;
- circumvent rate limits or access controls;
- mirror or duplicate substantial portions of the Platform;
- use Platform content for training artificial intelligence models without prior written permission.
Court Book reserves the right to investigate suspicious automated activity and implement technical measures including IP blocking, rate limiting and account suspension.
13. Intellectual Property Rights
Except for public legal documents and third-party materials belonging to their respective owners, all content available through Court Book is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
This includes, without limitation:
- software;
- application design;
- user interface;
- logos;
- branding;
- icons;
- graphics;
- databases;
- search systems;
- AI implementations;
- editorial content;
- original legal summaries;
- metadata;
- organisation of legal materials;
- translations created by Court Book;
- compilations and indexes.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to users.
14. Limited Licence
Subject to compliance with these Terms, Court Book grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Platform solely for personal, educational, research or internal professional purposes.
This licence does not permit:
- commercial resale;
- mass redistribution;
- licensing to third parties;
- creation of competing legal databases;
- removal of copyright notices;
- modification of proprietary content.
All rights not expressly granted remain reserved by Court Book and its licensors.
15. Copyright and Trademark
Court Book respects intellectual property rights.
If you believe that any content available through the Platform infringes your copyright or trademark, you may submit a written complaint containing sufficient information to identify:
- the protected work;
- the allegedly infringing material;
- proof of ownership or authority;
- your contact details;
- the basis of your claim.
Court Book reserves the right to investigate complaints and remove or restrict access to disputed material where considered appropriate.
Submission of a complaint does not automatically establish infringement, and Court Book reserves the right to reject incomplete, fraudulent or unsupported claims.
16. Third-Party Services and External Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, government portals, courts, payment providers and other external services for user convenience.
Court Book neither owns nor controls such third-party services and makes no warranty regarding their availability, security, privacy practices or content.
Your use of third-party services is governed exclusively by the terms and privacy policies of those respective providers.
17. Service Availability
Court Book continually strives to maintain uninterrupted access to the Platform; however, availability cannot be guaranteed.
The Platform may occasionally become unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical failures, cyber incidents, internet disruptions, governmental actions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Court Book shall not be liable for temporary interruptions, delays, data loss or inability to access the Platform arising from such events.
18. Subscriptions and Premium Services
Certain features of Court Book may be offered on a paid subscription or one-time purchase basis ("Premium Services"). Access to Premium Services is subject to successful payment, these Terms and any additional subscription terms displayed at the time of purchase.
Premium Services may include, without limitation:
- Premium legal research tools;
- Advanced AI-powered features;
- Premium legal drafts;
- Enhanced search functionality;
- Offline access;
- Future premium features introduced by Court Book.
Court Book reserves the right to modify, add, suspend or discontinue Premium Services at any time. Where reasonably practicable, material changes affecting active subscribers will be communicated in advance.
19. Payments
Payments made through the Platform are processed securely through authorised third-party payment providers.
For regulatory, taxation and payment processing purposes, certain payment records, invoices or transaction references may display the legal merchant name associated with Court Book.
Court Book does not collect or store your complete debit card number, credit card number, CVV, UPI PIN, internet banking credentials or similar financial authentication information.
You represent and warrant that:
- you are authorised to use the selected payment method;
- the payment information provided is accurate;
- you will pay all applicable charges, taxes and fees associated with your purchase.
Court Book reserves the right to suspend Premium Services where payment is declined, reversed, disputed or determined to be fraudulent.
20. Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds, cancellations and subscription-related matters shall be governed by the Court Book Refund Policy published on the Platform.
Where purchases are made through Google Play, Apple App Store or any other third-party marketplace, refunds may also be governed by the policies of the respective marketplace.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights available under applicable law.
21. Advertisements and Third-Party Promotions
The Platform may display advertisements, sponsored content, affiliate links or promotional materials.
The appearance of any advertisement, sponsor or third-party content does not constitute endorsement, recommendation or approval by Court Book.
Transactions between users and advertisers are solely between those parties. Court Book shall not be responsible for any loss, dispute, claim or damages arising from third-party products or services.
22. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Court Book expressly disclaims all warranties, representations and guarantees, whether express, implied or statutory, including but not limited to:
- merchantability;
- fitness for a particular purpose;
- accuracy;
- availability;
- reliability;
- compatibility;
- non-infringement;
- continuous or uninterrupted access.
Court Book does not warrant that:
- the Platform will always be available;
- errors will always be corrected;
- all legal information will remain current;
- AI-generated responses will always be accurate;
- the Platform will be free from interruptions, viruses or other harmful components.
23. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Court Book, its owners, employees, contractors, licensors, service providers and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or special damages arising out of or relating to:
- use or inability to use the Platform;
- reliance upon legal information;
- AI-generated content;
- legal drafts;
- court judgments;
- government publications;
- subscription interruptions;
- loss of profits;
- loss of business;
- loss of goodwill;
- loss of opportunity;
- loss or corruption of data;
- technical failures;
- security incidents beyond our reasonable control;
- actions taken by users based upon information available through the Platform.
Users acknowledge that they remain solely responsible for verifying legal information through official sources before relying upon it for legal proceedings, commercial transactions, governmental filings or any other important decision.
Where applicable law does not permit exclusion of certain liabilities, Court Book's liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
24. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Court Book, its owners, affiliates, employees, contractors, licensors and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses or legal fees arising from or relating to:
- your violation of these Terms;
- your misuse of the Platform;
- your violation of applicable law;
- your infringement of intellectual property rights;
- content submitted by you;
- your negligent or unlawful conduct.
This obligation survives termination of your use of the Platform.
25. Suspension and Termination
Court Book reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice where reasonably necessary, to suspend, restrict or terminate access to the Platform if:
- these Terms are violated;
- fraudulent or suspicious activity is detected;
- security of the Platform is threatened;
- required by law or governmental authority;
- continued access may expose Court Book or other users to risk.
Termination shall not affect any accrued rights, legal remedies or obligations existing prior to termination.
26. Force Majeure
Court Book shall not be responsible for any delay, interruption or failure in performance resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labour disputes, governmental actions, internet failures, cyberattacks, power failures, hosting failures or failures of third-party infrastructure.
Performance affected by such events shall be suspended for the duration of the event without liability to Court Book.
27. Dispute Resolution
Court Book believes that most concerns can be resolved quickly by contacting our support team. Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to make reasonable efforts to resolve any dispute by contacting us using the contact details provided in these Terms.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved through good-faith discussions, either party may pursue remedies available under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent interim or injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to protect legal rights, confidential information or intellectual property.
28. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Subject to applicable consumer protection laws, the courts located at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform.
If any applicable law requires a dispute to be heard in another jurisdiction, only that specific requirement shall apply, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.
29. Compliance with Applicable Laws
Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their access to and use of the Platform complies with all laws, rules and regulations applicable in their jurisdiction.
Court Book makes no representation that the Platform or its content is appropriate or legally available in every country or jurisdiction.
Access to the Platform from territories where its use would be unlawful is prohibited.
30. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Collection, use, storage and processing of personal information are governed by the Court Book Privacy Policy.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
31. Electronic Communications
By using the Platform or communicating with Court Book electronically, you consent to receive communications electronically, including notices relating to your account, subscriptions, transactions, legal updates, policy changes and customer support.
Electronic communications shall satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be made in writing where permitted by applicable law.
32. Modification of the Platform
Court Book continuously improves its services and therefore reserves the right to add, modify, suspend, replace or discontinue any feature, functionality, content, subscription plan or service at any time.
We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Platform where reasonably necessary for operational, security or legal reasons.
Nothing in these Terms guarantees the continued availability of any particular feature.
33. Assignment
Court Book may assign, transfer or delegate its rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing or sale of business assets without requiring prior user consent, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Users may not assign or transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms without the prior written consent of Court Book.
34. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined by a court or competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be interpreted as closely as possible to reflect its original intent, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
35. Waiver
Failure by Court Book to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other provision.
Any waiver shall be effective only if made expressly in writing by an authorised representative of Court Book.
36. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Court Book regarding your use of the Platform and supersede all previous understandings, communications or agreements relating to the same subject matter.
37. Survival
The provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, dispute resolution, payment obligations, termination and any other provisions which by their nature are intended to survive shall continue to remain effective even after termination of your access to the Platform.
38. Changes to these Terms
Court Book may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, business operations or Platform functionality.
The revised Terms will become effective upon publication unless a different effective date is specified.
Your continued use of the Platform after updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of those revised Terms.
Where required by applicable law, Court Book may provide additional notice regarding material changes.
39. Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA)
If you access or download the Court Book iOS application through the Apple App Store, your use of the application is also subject to the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), unless a separate custom EULA is provided by Court Book.

In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms & Conditions and the Apple Standard EULA with respect to the licence for the iOS application, the Apple Standard EULA shall prevail solely to the extent of such inconsistency. These Terms & Conditions shall continue to govern all other aspects of your use of the Court Book Platform.

41. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, accessing, browsing, registering an account, purchasing a subscription or otherwise using any part of the Court Book Platform, you acknowledge that you have carefully read, understood and agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform.
These Terms & Conditions form an integral part of the Court Book legal framework and should be read together with the Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Refund Policy.
