The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of two senior advocates to the bench of the Allahabad High Court. This decision was taken during the Collegium’s meeting held on March 25, 2025.
The advocates recommended for appointment as judges are:
- Shri Amitabh Kumar Rai
- Shri Rajiv Lochan Shukla
The Collegium issued an official statement regarding the recommendations:
"The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 25th March, 2025, has approved the proposal for the appointment of the following Advocates as Judges of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad: Shri Amitabh Kumar Rai and Shri Rajiv Lochan Shukla."
This recommendation is in line with the Collegium's ongoing efforts to strengthen the judiciary by appointing qualified and experienced advocates to high judicial positions.
