This development reflects the apex court’s continued push to align its human resource practices with the demands of a digitally-driven judiciary. The Additional Registrar (Housekeeping) post, though administrative in nature, now demands technical familiarity, a shift that mirrors the judiciary’s increasing reliance on digital platforms for efficiency and transparency.

The notification outlines a four-part structure for the test. The first section covers Computer Basics, including CPU organization, memory structure, backup devices, and keyboard shortcuts, all aimed at testing operational familiarity. The next part, Software, will assess knowledge of both Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Ubuntu-based LibreOffice tools like Writer and Calc.

The third module focuses on Internet and E-mail Skills, testing how candidates handle browsing, data uploads/downloads, and e-mail management. The syllabus even lists internet banking as a component- a subtle nod to the administrative handling of digital transactions and online payments.

The Court’s order concludes that this syllabus will guide the Computer Knowledge Test, ensuring transparency and clarity for all applicants.
