Section 24: Investiture of District Judge, Senior Civil Judge or Junior Civil Judge with small causes jurisdiction

Investiture of District Judge, Senior Civil Judge or Junior Civil Judge with small causes jurisdiction.

(1)

The High Court may, by notification, invest, within such local limits as it shall, from time to time fix,-

(i)

any District Judge or Senior Civil Judge , with the jurisdiction of a Judge of a Court of Small Causes for the trials of suits cognizable by such Courts upto the amount of ten thousand rupees.

(ii)

any Junior Civil Judge , with like jurisdiction upto the amount of four thousand rupees.

(2)

The High Court may, likewise, withdraw the jurisdiction from the District Judge, Senior Civil Judge or Junior Civil Judge so invested.
