Section 6: Appointment of State and other Registrars
Appointment of State and other Registrars. -
There shall be a [State] [Word substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Registrar for the purposes of this Act and as many Registrars and Sub-Registrars of money-lenders for assisting the Registrar as the [State] [Word substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government may from time to time determine. The [State] [Word substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government may define, by notification in the Official Gazette, the area within which each such officer shall exercise his powers and perform his duties and may prescribe the control which shall be exercised by the [State] [Word substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Registrar over Registrars and Sub-Registrars and by a Registrar over Sub-Registrars:Provided that no person who is not a servant of the [Government] [Words substituted for the word 'Crown' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.][* * *] [Words 'in India' Omitted by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] shall be empowered to act as a [State] [Word substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Registrar, Registrar orSub-Registrar under this Act.Disclaimer: This section is reproduced for general informational and reference purposes only.
