Section 54: Acquisition of land within the line of street
Acquisition of land within the line of street.
- If any private land whether open or enclosed lies, within the prescribed line of a public street and is occupied by a building or if a platform, verandah, steps, compound wall, hedge or fence or other structure, is within the line of such street, the Authority may, after giving the owner of the land or building a notice of the intention to do so, take, possession of the said land with its enclosing wall, hedge or fence, if any, or of the said platform, verandah, steps or such other structure as aforesaid or of the portion of the said platform, verandah, steps or other such structure as aforesaid which is within the prescribed line of the street.Previous
