Section 53: Punishments
Punishments.
- The punishments to which offenders are liable under the provisions of this Code are-Firstly. - Death;Secondly. - Imprisonment, which is of two descriptions, namely(1)
Rigourous, that is, with hard labour;(2)
Simple;[Thirdly. [Omitted by Act III of 1967.] - Omitted.]Fourthly. - Forfeiture of property;Fifthly. - Fine;Sixthly. - Imprisonment for life.Previous
