Section 4: Appointment of Highway Authorities
Appointment of Highway Authorities.
- The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint for the purpose of this Act or any of its provisions any person or any authority to be a Highway Authority for all the highways [in the State] [These words were substituted for the words 'in the Bombay area of the State of Maharashtra' by Maharashtra 42 of 1965, Section 5.] or, in parts [thereof] [This word was substituted for the words 'of the State' by the Bombay Adaptation of Laws (State and Concurrent Subjects) Order, 1956.] or for any particular highway or highways [therein] [This word was substituted for the words 'in the Bombay area of the State of Maharashtra' by Maharashtra 42 of 1965, Section 5.], specified in the notification.Previous
