Section 159: Cesser of corresponding law
Cesser of corresponding law.
- Where any area is declared to be a slum improvement area, then as from the date of such declaration, the provisions of any law corresponding to the provisions of this Act, in relation to the slum improvement area shall, save as otherwise provided in this Chapter, cease to be in force in the slum improvement area.The provisions of this Chapter shall not be taken to effect any property rights in any of the areas to which this Chapter applies; nor shall the provisions by or under this Chapter of any amenities be deemed to legalise what is otherwise illegal by or under any other law for the time being in force.Disclaimer: This section is reproduced for general informational and reference purposes only.
