Section 4: Prohibition of poppy cultivation and possession, etc., of opium

Prohibition of poppy cultivation and possession, etc., of opium. -

Except as permitted by this Act, or by any other enactment relating to opium for the time being in force, or by rules framed under this Act or under any such enactment, no one shall-

(a)

possess opium;

(b)

transport opium;

(c)

import or export opium; or

(d)

sell opium.
