The Allahabad High Court Bar Association has passed a resolution demanding the impeachment of Justice Yashwant Varma over allegations linked to the Cash-At-Residence case. The Association has urged the Chief Justice of India (CJI) to recommend impeachment proceedings against Justice Varma.
In its resolution, the Association expressed strong concerns about the in-house inquiry initiated against Justice Varma, calling it "questionable" and "unacceptable" within the judicial community. The resolution also stressed the need for a comprehensive review of all judgments delivered by Justice Varma to date.

“The continued presence of Justice Yashwant Varma poses a threat to democracy, as it has eroded 'public faith,' which is the cornerstone of the judicial system. If faith is lost, everything is lost, and the nation may face dire consequences,” the Bar Association stated in its resolution.
Additionally, the Association has requested the CJI to authorize the immediate filing of an FIR and an investigation by agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The resolution suggests that if necessary, Justice Varma should be taken into custody for questioning.
Notably, soon after the resolution was passed—strongly opposing any potential transfer of Justice Varma to the Allahabad High Court—the Supreme Court collegium recommended his transfer to the Allahabad High Court.
