Bomb Threat at Punjab & Haryana High Court: Courtrooms Cleared as Safety Measure

On Thursday afternoon, the Punjab and Haryana High Court witnessed a tense situation after receiving a bomb threat. The alert led to strict security actions and the immediate clearing of courtrooms to ensure safety.

“An alert regarding a bomb threat at the Hon'ble High Court has been received,” stated the High Court Bar Association.

The association quickly issued a notice informing all members about the threat and urged them to remain cautious while inside the court premises.

“All Hon'ble members are kindly requested to remain vigilant. If any suspicious or unattended items are found within the premises, please inform the office of the High Court Bar Association, Chandigarh, immediately,” the notice added.

As a preventive step, lawyers were asked to leave the courtrooms without delay. The move was aimed at avoiding any possible risk to people present at the court.

“Lawyers are requested to vacate the courtrooms immediately as a precautionary measure,” the association advised.

Despite the sudden disruption, the situation was brought under control. Court activities resumed after the lunch break at 2:00 PM.
