In a significant move, the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur has designated three distinguished advocates as Senior Advocates. The decision, taken under Section 16 of the Advocates Act, 1961, and Rule 7 of the High Court of Chhattisgarh (Designation of Senior Advocates) Rules, 2018, reflects the court's recognition of their exceptional contributions to the legal field.
The three advocates honored with the prestigious title are:
- Shri Ashok Kumar Varma
- Shri Manoj Vishwanath Paranjpe
- Shri Sunil Otwani
The High Court approved their designations on 7th August 2025, following the guidelines set by the Supreme Court of India in the landmark case of Indira Jaising Vs. Supreme Court of India (Writ Petition (Civil) No. 454 of 2015).
"The designation of Senior Advocates is a recognition of their expertise, integrity, and dedication to the legal profession."
