The Calcutta High Court has declined to grant interim relief to the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in its challenge to the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) decision to freeze three bank accounts.
The ED froze the accounts, allegedly holding around ₹440 crore, during its investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The probe concerns alleged fund transfers to Carewell Aviation India and a related entity between April 2023 and June 2026 in connection with the alleged purchase of an aircraft and a helicopter.
Justice Krishna Rao observed that interim relief was not warranted at this stage. The bench refused to stay the ED's debit freeze while the writ petition remains pending.
The Court allowed the ED's freeze on the three bank accounts to continue until further orders.
A detailed order is awaited.
