The Central Government has officially notified the appointment of three additional judges as permanent judges of the Punjab & Haryana High Court. This decision, which includes the appointment of two women judges, was approved by the Supreme Court Collegium on March 19, and the notification was issued on March 26.
The appointed judges are:
- Justice Sumeet Goel
- Justice Sudeepti Sharma
- Justice Kirti Singh

Justice Sumeet Goel
Justice Sumeet Goel completed his law degree from the Law Campus, Delhi University, and enrolled as an advocate in 1996. Over the years, he has built an extensive legal career, appearing in criminal, constitutional, civil, and arbitration cases in the Punjab & Haryana High Court. He has represented private litigants as well as corporate entities.
"Justice Goel has served as Retainer Counsel-cum-Special Public Prosecutor for the Central Bureau of Investigation at the Punjab & Haryana High Court from 2011 to 2022."
His experience also includes being a Standing Counsel for the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation and the Food Corporation of India. Additionally, he was a Panel Counsel for multiple institutions, including the UT Administration of Chandigarh, nationalised insurance companies, Kurukshetra University, Guru Jambheshwar University (Hisar), Central University of Haryana, Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board, and Haryana Urban Development Authority. Justice Goel also worked as a Special Engagement Counsel for the Union of India and a Panel Advocate in the office of the Advocate General of Haryana.

Justice Sudeepti Sharma
Justice Sudeepti Sharma earned her law degree from H.P. University, Shimla. During her academic years, she actively participated in NSS programs, contributed to adult literacy initiatives, and engaged in Community Oriented Policing with the Chandigarh Police.
"Justice Sharma has been a member of the Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association since 1998 and has built a strong legal career over the years."
She started her legal practice as a private counsel, appearing before the Punjab & Haryana High Court, district courts in Chandigarh, and various tribunals. In her distinguished career, she served as a Punjab State Law Officer, beginning as an Attached Assistant Advocate General in the Advocate General's office in Punjab on July 13, 2005. She was later promoted to Deputy Advocate General on September 23, 2008, and subsequently served as Additional Advocate General until August 20, 2022.

Justice Kirti Singh
Justice Kirti Singh completed her LLB from the Department of Laws, Panjab University, and enrolled as an advocate in 1998. She has been practicing at the Punjab & Haryana High Court since then.
"Justice Singh was appointed as an Assistant Advocate General for Punjab (2005-2006) and Haryana (2007-2009) before progressing to the role of Deputy Advocate General, Haryana (2010-2023)."
Her legal expertise led to her elevation as an Additional Judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court on November 6, 2023.
