In a significant move to curb online recruitment scams, the Delhi High Court has restrained several individuals and entities accused of impersonating SNV Aviation Pvt. Ltd. (Akasa Air) and luring job seekers with fake employment offers. The order, passed on 22 December 2025, targets those allegedly misusing the airline’s brand name and trademarks to demand money from unsuspecting applicants.
Background of the Case
SNV Aviation Pvt. Ltd., the company behind Akasa Air, approached the court alleging that fraudulent parties were circulating job offers while illegally using marks like “AKASA”, “AKASA AIR”, “SNV Aviation” and confusingly similar variations such as “AKASHA” and “AKAASA”.

According to the plaint, the scammers:
- Contacted candidates via calls and emails
- Posed as HR representatives
- Demanded “processing fees” for recruitment
- Used misleading domain names and UPI/bank accounts
The airline highlighted that it never charges money for hiring and claimed reputational harm and loss of public trust.
Court’s Observation
After reviewing the material, Justice Arora noted that the defendants’ conduct showed a clear pattern of fraud and deception.
“The acts clearly amount to misrepresentation and passing off… demanding ‘process fees’ when the Plaintiff follows no such practice.”
