The Karnataka High Court has directed the police to register a complaint in a case where a man was allegedly cheated out of ₹1.03 crore by a woman who falsely promised him a job at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The incident came to light during a bail hearing for the accused, Vinutha M E.
Justice Suraj Govindaraj, presiding over the vacation bench, issued a strong order to the Annapoorneshwarinagara Police Station.

“The first respondent is directed to register a complaint against the complainant in crime no. 165/2025, since it is alleged he paid ₹1.03 crore to the petitioner and others for a job in ISRO.”
The court also instructed the Registrar Judicial to forward a copy of the order to the Chairman of ISRO.
“This will help the Chairman take any necessary steps. Proof of this forwarding must be submitted by the next hearing on June 4.”
The court has asked the petitioner to provide details of criminal cases registered against her in Kollegal and Chikkamagaluru police stations on the same date.
According to the complainant, Sanjay N, the accused approached him at his home in Nagarabhavi in August 2024, claiming she could help him secure a graphic designer job at ISRO. She initially took ₹37 lakh and even arranged a fake fitness certificate from Victoria Hospital. Despite repeated payments, Sanjay never received any official appointment letter.

The accused then introduced Sanjay to individuals at ISRO, including Supratho Patho, Reddappa, Rajendra A K, and Anil Kumar, who demanded further payment. Believing their assurances, Sanjay paid an additional ₹23 lakh. In total, he handed over ₹1.03 crore, but the promised job never materialized, nor was the money returned. He later filed a police complaint.
