Rajasthan High Court Cancels SI Recruitment 2021 Over Paper Leak Scam

The Rajasthan High Court, in its latest order, has cancelled the Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment examination of 2021 after finding serious irregularities in the process. The court observed that the entire recruitment was “vitiated by a large-scale paper leak scam,” which made it impossible to ensure fairness for genuine candidates.

The case was filed after multiple petitions highlighted that the SI exam had been compromised due to widespread leaking of question papers. Candidates argued that the credibility of the recruitment process was destroyed, and honest aspirants suffered because of systemic failure.

The bench made strong observations against the state authorities, stressing that public examinations must be conducted with utmost transparency.

“The sanctity of a competitive examination is the foundation of merit-based selection. Once that sanctity is lost, the entire recruitment stands vitiated.”

The court further noted that ignoring such malpractices would encourage corruption and destroy the future of hardworking students.

The High Court has directed the state government and the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) to conduct a fresh recruitment examination for the post of Sub Inspector. It ordered that:

  • The cancelled recruitment process must not be continued.
  • New exams should be conducted with stricter safeguards.
  • The government must ensure no repeat of such malpractices.

The judgment comes as a big relief for aspirants who had been protesting against the irregularities. Many had demanded that the entire exam be scrapped rather than allowing tainted results. The court’s order has now paved the way for a clean and fair recruitment drive.

“Fairness in selection is a constitutional requirement. Compromising merit cannot be accepted in a democracy.”

The Rajasthan government will now have to announce a new schedule for the SI examination. Candidates who appeared earlier will be allowed to take part in the fresh exam without additional fees.
