Rajasthan High Court Disposes of Asharam's Parole Plea After Confirming Twenty-Day Release

The Rajasthan High Court has disposed of a miscellaneous application filed by Asharam alias Ashumal after confirming that he received the 20-day parole directed by the Court. The order was passed on October 30, 2026, by Justices Nupur Bhati and Sanjeet Purohit.

Background

The application, registered as D.B. Writ Miscellaneous Application No. 449/2026, concerned compliance with an earlier court order directing Asharam's release on parole for 20 days. The State informed the Court that he was released on October 8, 2026, but surrendered on October 28 instead of the stipulated date, October 27.

After examining the compliance report and the official order dated October 28, 2026, the Bench found that the directed parole period had been granted.

The Court observed,

"The fact that the applicant surrendered on 28.10.2026, instead of 27.10.2026, does not detract from the fact that the benefit of parole for the period directed by this Court has already been extended to him."

The Bench further held that the earlier directions had been substantially complied with and that no additional directions were necessary.

The High Court disposed of the miscellaneous application as infructuous, meaning no further decision was required on the request.

It also took the compliance report dated October 28, 2026, on record.
