On August 23, 2025, the Supreme Court of India issued a notice regarding changes in court proceedings scheduled for August 25, 2025 (Monday). The adjustments were made due to the non-availability of certain judges and the constitution of a special bench for a key case.
The notice stated that Hon’ble Mr. Justice K. Vinod Chandran will not be holding court on August 25, 2025. Consequently, the matters originally listed in the Chief Justice’s Court on that day will now be heard by a bench comprising Hon’ble the Chief Justice and Hon’ble Mr. Justice N.V. Anjaria, except for three-judge bench matters.

The bench of Justice K. Vinod Chandran and Justice N.V. Anjaria in Court No.10 at 2:00 PM will also not sit, and cases listed before this bench will not be taken up.
Special Bench Constitution
The Supreme Court further announced the formation of a special bench comprising Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vikram Nath, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Karol, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sandeep Mehta.
This bench will sit in Court No.3 at 10:30 AM on August 25, 2025, for the pronouncement of judgment in W.P. (Crl.) No. 371/2023. After the pronouncement, the regular benches in Court No.3 and Court No.12 will assemble.

Court No.16 Changes
The notice also confirmed that Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal will not be holding court on the same day. Accordingly, the sitting of Court No.16 (Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Manmohan) stands cancelled.
The cases listed before this bench have been rescheduled to August 26, 2025 (Tuesday), before a new bench of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Manmohan in Court No.16.
Additionally, Single Judge Bench/Chamber Matters in Court No.16 before Justice Manmohan will be taken up at 10:30 AM on August 25, 2025.
“The matters listed before benches not sitting on August 25, 2025, have been rescheduled accordingly,” the Supreme Court notice clarified.
