The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 19 August 2025, has approved the appointment of 14 advocates as judges of the Bombay High Court. With this decision, an important step has been taken towards filling the shortage of judges in the High Court.

- Shri Amit Satyavan Jamsandekar
- Shri Ashish Sahadev Chavan
- Mrs. Vaishali Nimbajirao Patil-Jadhav
- Shri Abasaheb Dharmaji Shinde
- Shri Farhan Parvez Dubash
The Second Group of Names Includes -
- Shri Siddeshwar Sundarrao Thombre
- Shri Mehroz Ashraf Khan Pathan
- Shri Ranjitsinha Raja Bhonsale
- Shri Sandesh Dadasaheb Patil
- Shri Shreeram Vinayak Shirsat
- Shri Hiten Shamrao Venegavkar
- Shri Rajnish Ratnakar Vyas
- Shri Raj Damodar Wakode
The Collegium stated that it is necessary to fill the vacant posts in the High Court without delay so that cases of common people are not kept pending. The statement clearly mentioned –
“Justice should not be delayed, therefore vacancies must be filled in a timely manner.”
These appointments are now awaiting the final approval of the President of India. Once cleared, all these advocates will take oath and assume office as judges of the Bombay High Court.
