The Supreme Court Collegium, in a meeting held on 15 September 2025, cleared the appointment of two senior advocates as judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. The move reflects the top court’s ongoing effort to fill long-pending judicial vacancies in state courts.
According to the official statement, the Collegium approved the names of Advocate Jiya Lal Bhardwaj and Advocate Romesh Verma. Both lawyers have built strong reputations in the Himachal legal community, with years of experience handling a wide range of civil and criminal matters.
