The proposal had been under consideration for weeks, with state authorities forwarding the names after detailed consultations. Judicial circles in Bengaluru were already abuzz over the likely elevations.

“The bench observed, ‘These candidates possess the necessary integrity and experience for the post of High Court Judge,’” a source present during the meeting recounted. The Collegium noted their service records and reputations across districts.

By the end of the 15 September meeting, the Collegium formally cleared the appointments of

1. Smt. Geetha Kadaba Bharatharaja Setty,

2. Shri Muralidhara Pai Borkatte, and

3. Shri Tyagaraja Narayan Inavally as judges of the Karnataka High Court.
