The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the appointment of five retired judges as ad hoc judges of the Allahabad High Court under Article 224-A of the Constitution.
The appointments have been cleared for a period of two years.
The retired judges approved for appointment are:
- Justice Mohd. Faiz Alam Khan
- Justice Mohd. Aslam
- Justice Syed Aftab Husain Rizvi
- Justice Renu Agarwal
- Justice Jyotsna Sharma
The move is aimed at strengthening the Allahabad High Court, which is facing a heavy backlog of cases, especially in criminal matters.
