In a significant development, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of three judicial officers to the Delhi High Court bench. These recommendations were made in two separate meetings held on 01st July 2025 and 02nd July 2025.
In its meeting dated 01st July 2025, the Collegium gave its approval for the appointment of Ms. Shail Jain and Ms. Madhu Jain, both judicial officers, as Judges of the Delhi High Court.
“The Supreme Court Collegium has resolved to recommend the names of Ms. Shail Jain and Ms. Madhu Jain, Judicial Officers, for elevation as Judges of the High Court of Delhi,” the resolution stated.

Subsequently, in another meeting held on 02nd July 2025, the Collegium approved the elevation of Shri Vinod Kumar, a Judicial Officer, as a Judge of the Delhi High Court.
“Having considered all relevant materials, the Collegium finds Shri Vinod Kumar suitable for appointment as a Judge of the High Court of Delhi,” said the official statement issued by the Supreme Court.
These decisions form part of the ongoing efforts to fill existing judicial vacancies and strengthen the bench of the Delhi High Court with experienced judicial officers.
All three officers are expected to bring valuable judicial experience and expertise to the High Court. The recommendations are now awaiting approval from the President of India as per the constitutional process.
