Supreme Court Reschedules September 15 Hearings After Justice Narasimha Announces One-Day Absence

The Supreme Court of India has reshuffled its September 15, 2025 cause list following a brief scheduling change. According to a notice issued on September 13, Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha will not sit on the bench that Monday, prompting the Registry to rearrange hearings for that day.

Ordinarily, Justice Narasimha joins the Chief Justice and Justice K. Vinod Chandran in the Chief Justice’s Court for key matters. With his absence, the bench will instead include the Chief Justice, Justice Chandran, and Justice Atul S. Chandurkar. The court clarified that any “part-heard” cases-matters already mid-hearing-will remain unaffected and continue on a later date if necessary.

Additionally, the separate bench usually comprising Justice Narasimha and Justice Chandurkar in Courtroom No. 7 will not sit on September 15. All cases originally listed before that bench are being shifted to Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

The notice, signed by the Deputy Registrar (Listing), instructed advocates and litigants to take note of the revised schedule to avoid confusion or missed appearances.

The Supreme Court’s decision ensures that pending cases move forward with minimal delay while accommodating the temporary absence of Justice Narasimha.
