The Supreme Court of India has issued an important notice dated 4 August 2025 regarding hearings through video conferencing (VC). This update is in continuation of its earlier circulars issued on 17 April 2020 and 2 June 2020.

The notice informs that all virtual court proceedings will be controlled by the respective Court Masters and Moderators from designated control rooms set up in each courtroom.

To ensure smooth conduct of hearings scheduled on 4 August 2025, advocates, parties-in-person, and all concerned have been advised to directly contact the concerned Court Master or Court Moderator for assistance.
These contacts are available only during the hearing timings. The Supreme Court has recommended using the chat feature available on the VC platform for communication, wherever possible.

“The above facility is extended in addition to the VC Helpline number 1881 and other helpline numbers notified for video conferencing/tele-conferencing vide Circular dated 18th August 2020, which is available on the official website.”
This move aims to facilitate seamless video conferencing hearings by giving direct access to courtroom officials during proceedings.
