Metropolitan Areas.
- The State Government shall, as soon as may be, declare any area in the State comprising a city or town whose population exceeds one million to be a Metropolitan area under the provisions of section 8 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act No. 2 of 1974).Explanation. - In this section the expression "population" means the population as ascertained at the last preceding census of which the relevant figures have been published.Disclaimer: This section is reproduced for general informational and reference purposes only.
