(1) The Council may take steps to
manufacture, purchase, sell or let on hire on the execution of a hire purchase agreement or otherwise, any
electrical machinery, control gear, fittings, wires or apparatus for lighting, heating, cooling or motive
power or for any other purpose for which electricity can or may be used, or any industrial or agricultural
machinery operated by electricity, and to install, connect, repair, maintain or remove such machinery,
control gear, fitting, wires or apparatus and in respect thereof demand and take such remuneration or rents
and charges and make such terms and conditions as it deems fit.
(2) The Council may also maintain shops and show rooms for the display, sale or hire of machinery, control gear, fittings, wires or apparatus as aforesaid, conduct displays, exhibitions and demonstrations thereof and generally do all things, including advertising incidental to the sale or hire of such machinery, control gear, fittings, wires and apparatus and to the promotion and encouragement of the use of electricity.
(3) Moneys received and expended in connection with additional functions specified in sub-sections (1) and (2) shall be shown separately in the accounts.
(2) The Council may also maintain shops and show rooms for the display, sale or hire of machinery, control gear, fittings, wires or apparatus as aforesaid, conduct displays, exhibitions and demonstrations thereof and generally do all things, including advertising incidental to the sale or hire of such machinery, control gear, fittings, wires and apparatus and to the promotion and encouragement of the use of electricity.
(3) Moneys received and expended in connection with additional functions specified in sub-sections (1) and (2) shall be shown separately in the accounts.
