Encroachment on Municipal Drains Etc

(1) Whoever, without the written consent of the Municipality first obtained, makes or causes to be made any drain into or out from any of the sewers or drains vested in the Municipality shall be punished with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, and the Municipality may by written notice require such person to demolish, alter, remake or otherwise deal with such drain as it may think fit. (2) No building shall be newly constructed or reconstructed over any sewer, drain, culvert or gutter vested in the Municipality without the written consent of the Municipality, and the Municipality may by written notice require the person who may have constructed or reconstructed such building to pull down or otherwise deal with the same as it may think fit.
