-(1)The
Municipality may, by written notice, require the owner or occupier
of any land to trim or prune the hedges thereof bordering any
public street so that the said hedges may not exceed such height
from the level of the street and such width as the Municipality may
direct and to cut down, lop or trim all trees or shrubs which in any
way overhang, endanger or obstruct, or which it deems likely to
overhang, endanger or obstruct any public street or to cause
damage thereto, or which so overhang any public tank, well or
other provision for water supply as to pollute, or to be likely to
pollute, the water thereof.
(2) If the owner or occupier fails to comply with the notice
issued to him under sub-section (1) within the period specified in
the notice, the Municipality may cause to trim or prune such
hedges and recover the cost of trimming and pruning in the same
manner in which municipal dues are recovered.
