(1) The Tribunal shall have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 while trying a civil suit with respect to the following matters, namely:-
(a) enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;
(b) compelling the production of documents and material objects;
(c) issuing commission for the examination of witnesses; and
(d) such other matters as may be prescribed.
(2) Every proceeding before the Tribunal shall be deemed to be a judicial proceeding within the meaning of section 193 and 228 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
