Section 68

Power of State Government to Sanction Draft Scheme.

The Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.
(1) The Planning Authority or, as the case may be, the officer aforesaid shall, not later than 1[three months] 2[from the date of the publication of the notice in the Official Gazette, regarding the making of the draft scheme], submit the same with any modifications which it or he may have made therein together with a copy of objections received by it or him to the State Government, and shall at the same time apply for its sanction.

(2) On receiving such application, after making such inquiry as it may think fit and consulting the Director of Town Planning, the State Government may, not later than 3[three months] from the date of its submission, by notification in the Official Gazette, 4***, either sanction such draft scheme with or without modifications and subject to such conditions as it may think fit to impose or refuse to give sanction.

(3) If the State Government sanctions such scheme, it shall in such notification state at what place and time the draft scheme shall be open to the inspection of the public 5[and the State Government shall also state therein that copies of the scheme or any extract therefrom certified to be correct shall on application be available for sale to public at a reasonable price.]
