Precautions in case of dangerous tanks, wells, holes, etc.
(1)
If any tank, pond, well, hole, stream, dam, bank or other place appears to him to be, for want of sufficient repair, protection or enclosure, dangerous to the public health or safety, the Commissioner or Executive Authority may, with the approval of the Panchayat Union Council or Village Panchayat, as the case may be, by notice require the owner to fill in, remove, repair, protect or enclose the same so as to prevent any danger therefrom.(2)
If immediate action is necessary, he shall, before giving such notice or before the period of notice expires, himself take such temporary measures as he thinks fit to prevent danger, and the cost of doing so shall be recoverable from the owner in the manner hereinafter provided.Previous
