Section 153: Acquisition of right of persons to hold private market
Acquisition of right of persons to hold private market.
(1)
A Panchayat Union Council may acquire the rights of any person to hold a private market in any place in a panchayat development block and to levy fee therein. The acquisition shall be made under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act I of 1894) and such rights shall be deemed to be land for the purposes of the Act.(2)
On payment by the Panchayat Union Council of the compensation awarded under the said Act in respect of such property and any other charges incurred in acquiring it, the rights of such person to hold a private market and to levy fees therein shall vest in the Panchayat Union Council.Disclaimer: This section is reproduced for general informational and reference purposes only.
