Section 51: Election of Vice-Chairman of Panchayat Union Council

Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994

Election of Vice-Chairman of Panchayat Union Council.

(1)

The Vice-Chairman shall be elected by the Panchayat Union Council from among its elected members in accordance with such procedure as may be prescribed.

(2)

If at an election held under sub-section (1), no Vice-Chairman is elected, a fresh election shall be held for electing a Vice-Chairman.
