- An award shall in the first instance remain in operation for a period of one year or such shorter period as may be specified therein :Provided that the State Government may extend the period of operation of an award from time to time, if it thinks fit :Provided further that where the State Government whether of its own motion or on the application of any party bound by the award, considers that since the award was made there has been a material change in the circumstances on which it was based, the State Government may, after such enquiry as it may think fit, shorten the period of operation of the award.]Previous
