Damages or destruction etc. of boundary marks.
(1)
If any person wilfully destroys or injuries or without lawful authority removes any boundary marks lawfully erected under Chapter IV or under any other law for the time being in force, he may be ordered by the Tahsildar to pay such amount not exceeding one hundred rupees for each mark so destroyed, injured or removed, as may in the option of the Tahsildar be necessary to defray the expense of restoring the same and of rewarding the informant, if any.(2)
The recovery of damages under sub-section (1) shall not debar prosecution for any offence under the Indian Penal Code in respect of such destruction injury or removal.Previous
