Section 132: Vacancy not to affect proceedings of Panchayat
Vacancy not to affect proceedings of Panchayat.
(1)
During any vacancy in the Panchayat, the continuing members may act as if no vacancy had occurred.(2)
The Panchayat shall have power to act notwithstanding any vacancy in the membership or any defect in the constitution thereof; and such proceedings of the Panchayat shall be valid notwithstanding that it is discovered subsequently that some person who was not entitled to do so at or voted or otherwise took part in the proceedings.(3)
No act or proceedings of a Panchayat shall be deemed to be invalid on account of any defect or irregularity in any such act or proceedings not affecting the merits of the case or on account of any irregularity in the service of notice upon any member or for mere informality.Previous
