10 New Judges Appointed to Punjab and Haryana High Court

In a major development in the Indian judiciary, the President of India has appointed 10 new Additional Judges to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. This appointment has been made in accordance with Article 224(1) of the Constitution of India. The Ministry of Law and Justice officially announced the appointments through a notification dated August 1, 2025.

The appointed judges will serve as Additional Judges for a period of two years, starting from the date they assume their respective offices. The appointments have been made in the order of seniority. The newly appointed judges are:

The appointments were made under the authority of clause (1) of Article 224 of the Indian Constitution, which allows the President to appoint Additional Judges to a High Court when the workload or pendency of cases so requires.
