AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi Moves Supreme Court Against Electoral Roll Revision

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has approached the Supreme Court challenging the conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Advocate Nizamuddin Pasha mentioned the plea before a bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Wednesday, seeking its listing alongside similar petitions scheduled for hearing the following day.

Pasha requested that Owaisi’s petition be heard with the connected matters challenging the electoral roll revision and related voter deletions.

The Chief Justice responded,

“I will check and list the matter along with the connected cases.”

The petition adds to challenges brought by opposition leaders, including Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, against the SIR process.

The Court indicated that it would examine the listing request.
