The Central Government has issued a formal notification regarding the transfer of Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari from the Madhya Pradesh High Court to the Kerala High Court.
This decision comes after a series of meetings held by the Supreme Court Collegium on 20th March 2025, 24th March 2025, and 3rd April 2025, during which the transfer was recommended.
“The Supreme Court Collegium, after due deliberation, recommended the transfer of Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari from Madhya Pradesh High Court to Kerala High Court,” the official note read.
Justice Dharmadhikari, born on 8th July 1966 in Raipur, has a legal career spanning over 24 years. He began practicing as an Advocate in the Madhya Pradesh High Court in 1992. Over the years, he built a notable career in law and advocacy.
He was appointed as the Standing Counsel for the Union of India in 2000, a position he held with distinction until 2015. His extensive experience and representation of the Central Government in legal matters earned him widespread recognition in the legal fraternity.
Following his commendable legal career, Justice Dharmadhikari was elevated to the Bench as an Additional Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on 7th April 2016. He was later confirmed as a Permanent Judge on 17th March 2018.
"Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari has contributed significantly to the Madhya Pradesh High Court during his tenure, and his transfer is in line with the recommendations of the Collegium," said a source familiar with the matter.
With this transfer, Justice Dharmadhikari is set to join the Kerala High Court, bringing his vast experience and judicial insights to a new jurisdiction.
The notification was issued as part of routine judicial administrative functioning and follows the well-established process of High Court judge transfers as per the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium.
