A Delhi court on Thursday (September 03) granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in a case concerning alleged irregularities in the Delhi Jal Board’s sewage treatment plant tender process.
Jain was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on August 18, 2026. The case was registered in May 2024 following a complaint by the Directorate of Vigilance. The ACB alleges that tender conditions were manipulated to favour a private company.
Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh of the Rouse Avenue Courts allowed Jain’s bail plea. The court directed him to furnish a personal bond of ₹2 lakh along with two sureties of the same amount. The detailed reasoned order is awaited.
“Bail plea is allowed,” Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh said while passing the order.
