Delhi High Court Agrees to Hear CJP Leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka’s Plea Against Custody

The Delhi High Court has agreed to hear Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka’s challenge to the extension of their judicial custody on October 21. Justice Subramonium Prasad will hear the matter.

The leaders challenged a Special Executive Magistrate’s October 19 order extending their custody by two days following allegations of violating peace bonds during a protest at Jantar Mantar.

Their plea alleges that the magistrate wrongly rejected their sureties and extended custody without giving them a proper opportunity to furnish alternatives. They also dispute the claim that the protest threatened public order.
