The Delhi High Court has officially summoned YouTuber and political commentator Ajeet Bharti in connection with a defamation lawsuit filed by media company TFI Media Pvt. Ltd., known as The Frustrated Indian.
Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav issued the summons while also taking up an application for interim injunction filed by the plaintiff. The court asked Bharti to respond to the notice before July 7, 2025, the date scheduled for the next hearing.

The lawsuit was filed over two tweets posted from Ajeet Bharti’s verified X (formerly Twitter) handle @ajeetbharti on March 22 and 23, 2025, which TFI Media claims were defamatory in nature.
Representing TFI Media, Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai along with his legal team submitted that the tweets were designed to damage the company’s reputation and had already caused substantial harm. The plaintiff also pointed out that they had politely responded to one of the tweets, requesting Bharti not to make “baseless assertions.”

As part of the interim relief, the plaintiff asked the court to direct Bharti to take down both the tweets and requested a permanent injunction restraining further defamatory content. Additionally, the company sought ₹2.1 crore in damages for alleged mental agony, economic losses, and reputational harm.

TFI Media has also asked the court to direct Bharti and X Corp (Defendant No. 2) to permanently remove the posts and cover litigation costs.

Currently, both disputed tweets have already been deleted from Bharti’s profile.

The Court has ordered that Bharti must file his written statement within 30 days of receiving the summons. Failure to do so may lead to exclusion of his defense submissions. The next procedural step is marking of exhibits on September 22, 2025, before the Joint Registrar.
