The Supreme Court of India has officially released a recruitment advertisement dated 25 July 2025, inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for multiple posts across different cadres. This recruitment drive aims to fill vacant positions in the Registry and Museum departments of the Supreme Court.

Vacancies and Eligibility Criteria

1. Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports (05 Posts)

Category: UR – 5

Pay Level: Level 12 (₹78,800/- + allowances)

Age: 30 to 40 years

Qualification: Degree in Law (recognized by Bar Council of India), English Bar Member, or Attorney of High Court

Experience: Minimum 3 years in one of the following roles: Advocate in High Court/Supreme Court, judicial post, legal research, law reporting, or teaching law

Exam Pattern: Written Test (2 hours): Part A: Precis Writing & Editorial Skills (100 marks, 50 qualifying) Part B: Law and Constitution (100 marks, 50 qualifying) Interview: 25 marks (13 qualifying)

2. Assistant Director (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum (01 Post)

Category: UR – 1

Pay Level: Level 11 (₹67,700/- + allowances)

Age: 30 to 40 years

Qualification: First Class Master's in Museology

Experience: 5 years of documented research work in a reputed museum

Exam Pattern: Written Test (3 hours): English, GK, Aptitude (30 marks), Museology/History (70 marks) Computer Test: Qualifying only Interview: 25 marks (13 qualifying)

3. Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum (02 Posts)

Category: UR – 2

Pay Level: Level 8 (₹47,600/- + allowances)

Age: Max 35 years

Qualification: High Second Class (55%) Master’s in Museology

Experience: 2 years in Museology or as Assistant Curator

Exam Pattern: Same as Assistant Director

4. Assistant Librarian (14 Posts)

Category: UR – 10, SC – 3, ST – 1

Pay Level: Level 8 (₹47,600/- + allowances)

Age: Max 30 years

Qualification: Degree in Library Science + Computer Application Diploma

Experience: 2 years in a University/Law Library

Exam Pattern:Written Test (3 hours): English, GK, Aptitude (30 marks), Library Management (70 marks)Computer Test (1 hour): 100 marksInterview: 25 marks"Minimum qualifying marks differ for General and Reserved categories."

Important Exam & Selection Guidelines

“Candidates qualifying the written test will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:3 for interviews or 1:10 for computer tests based on posts.”

Test Cities: Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai

Interview Location: Delhi

Relaxation: Age relaxations apply to SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/Freedom Fighter dependents as per Govt. rules

No Age Limit: For existing Supreme Court Registry employees

Application Mode: Online only

Fee: ₹1500 (UR/OBC), ₹750 (SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwD) – Non-refundable

Payment: Online via UCO Bank gateway only

Important Instructions & Conditions

"Applications not complying with the instructions shall be summarily rejected."

One application per post is required

All scanned documents, photos, and signatures must be uploaded in the online form

No request for modification in category or details will be accepted after submission

Candidates must retain their application number and print their form for records

Admit cards will be available online; no postal delivery

Misconduct or false information at any stage will lead to disqualification
