(1) The State Government may make rules for the
regulation of recruitment and conditions of service of police officers in
subordinate ranks.
(2) Subject to the provisions of Article 311 of the Constitution of India, the Director General of Police or any other police officer authorised by the State Government in this behalf may dismiss, remove from service, reduce in rank, or confine to quarters for a term not exceeding fifteen days (with or without punishment-drill, extra guard, fatigue or other duty), any police officer of subordinate ranks found to be remiss or negligent in the discharge of his duties or unfit for the same, or guilty of any misconduct.
