Section 24Special powers of Magistrates

The u.p. sugarcane (regulation of supply and purchase) act, 1953

Notwithstanding anything contained in Section 32 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, it shall be lawful for 1[Chief Judicial Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate as the case may be, or Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate or Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate] specially empowered by the State Government in this behalf and trying any case under this Act or any Order or Rule made thereunder to pass a sentence of fine not exceeding 2[one lakh rupees] on any person convicted for any offence under this Act
